MentorBuilt News: Strategy subteam displays laser focus in "Chipotle vs Chik-Fil-A" dinner debate

Davis, CA - A passionate debate has erupted in the stands of the Sacramento Regional.  Students from local FRC team "The Bionic Cyborgs" huddled around self-elected strategy captain Blake Jones as he attempted to settle the raucous crowd.

The Bionic Cyborgs found themselves in picking position, finishing the qualification rounds in 3rd place despite a yearly budget of only $6,000.  Blake knew that he must rise to the occasion, and help prepare his team for Sunday's elimination rounds.  A quiet fell over the assembled students as he rose to speak, and pled for his classmates to focus their attention at this critical juncture.

"'We worked our butts off to get here, and we're not going to make the same mistake that we made last year", said Blake, bringing to memory their woeful 2017 performance.  "We need all hands on deck to make this decision, but I'll be damned if we end up getting dinner at China Wok like last year."  His teammates nodded solemnly as he continued, "From speaking with all of you over the last 7 hours, it seems like most of you are in favor of picking Chik-Fil-A, but you are all in error. We only have one shot to make the right call and save our season, and Chik-Fil-A is a huge mistake."

Blake cleared his throat before ever so subtly elevating his voice, "Now, I love Chik-Fil-A's Spicy Chicken Sandwich as much as any of you, but I feel that Chipotle has to be the decision here.  We need the protein, since most of us just ate Skittles for lunch.  Plus my best friend works at Chipotle, and I kinda promised him that we would pick them."

At press time, Blake was still in the hospital recovering from injuries acquired in the resulting skirmish.  The Bionic Cyborgs went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner that night, left their scouting data in the stands, and were eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Blake asked MentorBuilt to post the link to his GoFundMe, a request to which we graciously declined.  We at MentorBuilt have pledged to donate our excess earnings to ballooning "2 Champs" expenses, instead of ballooning medical care costs.  Blake can live without a kidney, but we at MentorBuilt can't live without trampoline artists that fill the lulls between speeches from corporate sponsors.
